On Friday, Nov. 1, Intel and the U.S. Air Force Academy will celebrate a shared commitment to cutting-edge technology with a light show featuring 500 Intel® Shooting StarTM drones.

Aerial choreography will take viewers on a journey to outer space with animations of aliens and UFOs, followed by a tribute to the Air Force Academy through images of jet formations and a nod to its football team by creating the Blue Falcon mascot in the nighttime sky.

Air Force cadets will play a role in the performance by assisting Intel pilots with drone setup and pre-show testing.

The light show is free and open to the public at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. The show begins at 8 p.m. MDT. It will take flight 550 feet in the sky above landmarks including the iconic Cadet Chapel and the academy’s headquarters, the Honor Court.
